Reversing Thinning Hair and Hair Loss:
Frequently Asked Questions
A new successful way for reversing thinning hair and hair loss, and restoring healthy hair growth again has finally been developed.
This natural remedy for thinning hair and hair loss caused by androgenetic alopecia involves simple techniques developed from the real reason behind this condition - skull expansion (skull bone growth).
"Here Today, Hair Tomorrow" explains exactly what these techniques are, why they work and how to use them.
This page gives answers to the most frequently asked questions about these techniques.
There are two basic principles involved. One of these involves a dramatic increase in scalp circulation (which is why these techniques will help with other types of hair loss - see Q12, Q13 and Q14). The second principle is only revealed in "Here Today, Hair Tomorrow"
Many people know that massage will increase scalp circulation for a short period of time. Three of these techniques involve a unique form of scalp manipulation, but this does not simply mean a basic head massage. There's a lot more to it than that! These are specialized techniques designed to address specific areas of the scalp.
Q3. How many techniques are there and will I have to do them all?
There are eight techniques in total - four relate directly to the temple region and four to the crown/back of the head. However, you will not necessarily need to use them all.
"Here Today, Hair Tomorrow" explains how your own personal circumstances (i.e., the extent and location of your hair loss, the type of hair loss you suffer, and whether you are a man or a woman) will determine which techniques to use. You focus on those that are relevant to you and will benefit you the most.
These techniques take just 15 minutes twice a day (ideally you would do three 20 minute sessions per day). And, if a total of thirty or more minutes per day sounds a lot, please consider this:
How long do you spend every day worrying about your hair?
Wouldn't you rather spend that time in a productive way instead?
There's a huge number of people who spend a very long time every single day worrying about their hair loss problem. (I know because I used to be one of them!)
I found that these techniques also removed the stress caused by hair loss. And, becuse you know you've finally found something that will really help, you can also save time searching for other hair loss products . Instead, you can simply get on with your life!
This will vary from person to person depending upon the extent of your hair loss and how recently it started. Obviously this means that, if you've suffered severe hair loss for many years, new hair growth is going to take longer to appear for you (you should also read Q11).
However, most people see a noticeable improvement in hair growth within just a few months.
It takes a few months simply because, when a new hair start growing, it will take time to grow along its follicle, emerge and then become visible (hair grows at approximately 3mm/week). Furthermore, some hair may first need to restart the hair growth cycle - hair naturally enters and remains in a resting stage (telogen) before the growth stage (anagen) restarts.
You will initially notice a reduction in the rate of hair loss. Healthier, thicker hair growth in areas of thinning hair will then follow.
Hair regrowth in previous areas of loss: you should especially expect strong regrowth at the crown (vertex) and back of the head. Recovery of hair at the temples is possible but more difficult (see Q10).
Q7. Can these techniques be used by both men and women?
Yes. These techniques involve no other hair loss products. Whereas drugs such as finasteride and dutasteride are not suitable for women, these natural techniques can be used by anyone.
Men - If your hair loss started within the last seven years or is not too severe then you are highly likely to benefit from strong hair regrowth by using these techniques. Basically, any man who is in a similar situation to me should definitely be able to benefit to the same extent as I did:
My hair loss started when I was 23 with a receding hairline. This rapid hair loss at the temples extended to thinning hair at the crown within just a couple of years, and this eventually developed into thinning hair at the back of my head too. All in all, I suffered hair loss for seven years. So, if you can relate to this rate and region of hair loss, you should feel confident about using these techniques to produce significant hair growth. (You can read about how I beat hair loss here).
Women - Androgenetic alopecia usually develops as diffuse thinning (evenly spread hair loss) in most women. It usually occurs following the menopause (when estrogen levels fall allowing testosterone to express itself on the female body). Since women have much less testosterone than men, they do not experience skull expansion/androgenetic alopecia to the same extent, and so these techniques should prove highly effective for the majority of women with this condition. Basically, it should be easier for women to reverse hair loss than it is for men.
There are also several other types of hair loss that can also affect women. These are detailed below.
Yes. These techniques stopped my hair loss in its tracks. I experienced strong regrowth where my hair was thinning and some new hair growth at the temples. And I have kept my hair ever since. I am in no doubt that, but for these techniques, I would have suffered extreme hair loss many years ago. So these methods can definitely act as a strong preventative measure against future hair loss.
Receding temples (frontal baldness) is a very difficult area of the scalp to address. However, even here, some hair regrowth has been achieved:
In my case, temple recession stopped and later, some hair growth was also apparent. But, I still have some residual loss at the temples. (Personally, this doesn't bother me at all - no one would ever know I suffered any hair loss at all unless maybe they look at a photo of me from twenty years ago!)
Given that I still have some residual hair loss at the temples, I'd say it's unlikely that any hair loss product or natural method would be able to regrow my hairline completely.
My hair loss started at the temples and it continued for seven years before I realised how to stop it. I'm extremely pleased with my own results. Anyone whose temples have been receding to a lesser extent than me, or for a shorter time, might be able to fully recover their hairline. But, to be perfectly honest, I doubt it. I think stopping further temple recession is the most realistic target.
Q11. Can these techniques help someone who is completely bald?
No, probably not. For someone who's been completely bald for many years, several measures may be required to produce any noticeable results.
Perhaps dietary changes, supplements, as well as these hands-on techniques, all combined would produce new hair growth.
Note: it's quite common for someone who is completely bald to have a very shiny look to the surface of their scalp. This is caused by sebum - an oily substance that may further contribute to hair loss by clogging follicles (on the inside) and covering the scalp in a hard waxy layer (on the outside). Any such person would almost certainly need to start by thoroughly cleansing the scalp if sebum has built up in this way.
Finally, please note that follicles do not die. "Dormant" is a much more accurate term. As such, there is always be the potential for follicles to grow hair. But, for someone who is completely bald, it is extremely difficult.
Q12. Can these techniques help with telogen effluvium?
Yes. Telogen effluvium, including chronic telogen effluvium (CTE) usually develops slowly (over many years) due to a nutritional deficiency, especially iron. Male and female vegetarians as well as women who experience heavy periods (i.e., involving a large loss of blood) are most at risk of CTE. Treatment using nutritional supplements (iron, L-lysine and vitamin C) may be recommended.
However, it will take time to recover your iron levels. So it naturally follows that it will also take time for healthy hair growth to return. Once you start correcting your nutritional deficiency, there's no reason why you should be losing any more hair.
These techniques will encourage your dormant hair follicles to rapidly start growing healthy hair again.
Q13. Can these techniques help women with post partum hair loss?
Yes. During pregnancy, there is a rise in female estrogen levels and hair normally grows extremely well as a result. But, following pregnancy, when these levels subsequently decline, post partum hair loss can occur. Post partum hair loss is usually temporary and can affect up to 50% of women.
Whilst the cause of this condition must first be rectified (your body's estrogen levels should return to normal within 6 months to a year) these natural techniques should definitely be able to kick-start your hair growth back to normal much faster than if you do nothing at all. It certainly may be ill-advisable to try hair loss drugs and herbals (which can affect your hormone levels) at a time when your body is trying hard to restore its hormone balance naturally.
Q14. Can they help with hair loss caused by hormone imbalances?
Yes. Other types of hair loss can be caused by hormone imbalances, especially of the thyroid gland. (For example, hair loss and thyroid gland disorders include: thyroiditis, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism and myxedema). It's recommended that the underlying condition is first identified and/or rectified. These techniques should then be able to encourage your scalp follicles to grow thick, strong, healthy hair again.
Q15. Can these techniques help someone with alopecia areata?
Alopecia areata is an extremely distressing condition involving sudden and excessive hair loss. The hair usually falls out in clumps and can cause severe hair loss within days. Even total hair loss is possible (alopecia totalis and alopecia universalis).
Alopecia areata, totalis and universalis all involve autoimmune skin disease where the body attacks its own (hair growing) cells and tissues. But, because the mechanism that actually causes this autoimmune response still remains unknown, successful treatment is very difficult to achieve.
As such, it is unknown, but unlikely, that these techniques will help. The underlying mechanism needs to be addressed first.
Q16. Can these techniques help someone in middle or old age?
Yes. There's no reason why they can't be used successfully in older people. Your follicles are dormant, not dead. So you should be able to stimulate them back into hair growth.
For example, post menopausal hair loss: this type of hair loss is actually androgenetic alopecia (female pattern baldness) and is extremely common: over 60% of women suffer from this type of hair loss following the menopause.
Q18. Do I need other hair loss products or have to visit a clinic for treatment?
No. This simple, highly effective method is easy to apply in the privacy of your own home. You do not need to visit a clinic for treatment and no other hair loss products are involved.
Q19. Can I use minoxidil or other products with these techniques?
These techniques are completely safe to use with other products if you wish. Using several products might prove to be the most beneficial approach if your hair loss is particularly severe (see Q11).
Q20. How does skull expansion explain successful hair transplants?
At the time of a transplant, the patient will already be experiencing severe hair loss. This indicates that, in the area which is to receive the transplant, skull expansion has most probably fully developed and no further bone growth following the procedure is likely. So, if either existing MPB region follicles can be rejuvenated or healthy donor follicles/follicular units are transplanted to this area, normal healthy hair can be produced.
For some, skull expansion and hair loss can start as early as puberty. So, by the time they reach their 20's or 30's, their skull shape could have fully developed (as stated before). This explains why those men who get hair transplanted quite young can still grow hair successfully.
But it should also be mentioned that when you're very young it's difficult to know what the degree of eventual hair loss will be. For this reason, patients are usually advised to wait until they're older before having surgery, i.e., when the full extent of their hair loss and skull expansion is known. Of course, the problem with waiting many years before having a transplant is that, by such time, there may be very little donor hair left to use.
Q21. Is this just another ebook giving basic hair care advice?
No. Other hair loss ebooks might give you nutritional advice, tell you what supplements to take and reveal various vegetable extracts to rub on your scalp! They might also recommend simple neck stretches, breathing exercises or a basic head massage.
Whilst many of these things might benefit hair growth, most of this information can easily be obtained from the internet for free. And, most importantly, they all fail to address the skull expansion process.
"Here Today, Hair Tomorrow" is unique. It's been written in two parts:
The first part focuses on various factors that can affect hair loss, and explains the skull expansion process in detail (including the extraordinary reason why skull expansion occurs in the first place - i.e., how this type of hair loss evolved).
The second part is dedicated to the techniques. It explains step-by-step how to perform these methods and personalise them for your own circumstances. It gives examples and illustrations to show you exactly what you need to do. It's a fascinating read quite unlike any other hair loss book or ebook available.
