What Are The Best
Hair Loss Products?

Are the best hair loss products to use drugs such as Rogaine and Propecia?

Or is laser therapy the way to go?

Before you decide which products to try, you have to consider several important things:

1. Convenience - Can they be used at home?
2. Cost and money-back guarantee?
3. What results can you expect and how long will it take?
4. Hair loss type?
5. Drugs or natural products?

This page explains all these things, and so should help in your search to find the best hair loss products for you…

1. Convenience - Can they be used at home?

There's no doubt that being able to use a product discreetly and in the comfort of your own home is much more appealing to most people than having to regularly go to a clinic.

Here are a few of the reasons why…

  • No matter how many times you visit a clinic, there's no way that it can't come anywhere near the number of daily applications you can do at home.

  • This increased use at home can also increase the effectiveness of the product.

  • You might have to take several days off work during the course of your treatment, travelling to a clinic, etc. - something that will add to the already huge cost that clinics generally charge…

2. Cost and money-back guarantee?

It's good that you can now use virtually the same laser therapy or drug products at home without the extortionate cost that sitting under a laser machine for twenty minutes at a clinic will cost you!

However, I think the mindset of many men and women with a serious hair loss problem is that, as long as it works, the cost is secondary. In which case, the best hair loss products to use are simply those that work, regardless of the price.

But most manufacturers tend to provide a whole range of products including topical lotions, nutritional supplements, specialist shampoos, conditioners, etc. And, of course, they usually suggest that, for optimum results, you should use all the products in their range!

And this multiple approach can become quite a messy, time-consuming affair, and very expensive (especially considering that, if they work, they probably have to be used for life).

Most products carry a guarantee. This is something that you're not going to get from transplants, etc. which involve consultations, examinations by a specialist, and many, many man-hours from the person (or people) who perform the therapy on you.

But, regardless of a guarantee, the products do have to work! And, unfortunately, many simply don't…

3. What results can you expect and how long will it take?

Whilst personal expectations will obviously vary, a lot of people expect far too much - unfortunately a "miracle cure" for hair loss simply does not exist!

These high hopes are often founded in reviews and testimonials that appear on the manufacturers' own website, or the websites they sponsor. Remember, customer testimonials are subject to personal expectations, and if someone praises a product, the results they say they achieved might not repeat for you, or fall below your own expectations. And some testimonials might not even be genuine!

Any new hair growth will take time: the follicles need to be stimulated; the hair then has to then emerge from the scalp, possibly change from vellus to terminal hair too, and finally grow thick and long so that it gets noticed. All of which can take several months.

So it's easy to waste a huge amount of time, especially if you experiment with a multiple-product approach.

Many manufacturer's state that 3 to 6 months (or more) are needed to start seeing results.

4. Hair loss type?

There are many different types of hair loss, so the best hair loss products to use also depend upon which type of hair loss you have…

Alopecia areata (rapid, patchy hair loss) - Nourkrin has been promoted as being beneficial.

Chronic telogen effluvium or CTE (diffuse thinning over the whole scalp) - Nutrihair might be the best product to use because it will restore the iron deficiency associated with CTE.

Androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness) - This is the most common type of hair loss and the one that the vast majority of hair loss products address including hair loss drugs...

5. Drugs or natural products?

Most people think drugs like minoxidil (Rogaine in the USA and Regaine in the UK) and finasteride (Propecia) are the best hair loss products to use simply because they have FDA approval.

But, whilst this approval follows trials which effectively prove that these hair loss drugs do work to some extent, this does not mean complete reversal from a totally bald scalp back to a full head of hair. That's impossible. Results can vary widely from preson to person.

Drug products also carry a risk of side effects - something I personally am very wary of.

So, I believe that natural self-help remedies have a distinct advantage over conventional drug products as long as they work.

For me, my own natural techniques helped me to successfully overcome the hair loss I suffered.

Summary

Finding the best hair loss products can be extremely difficult simply because there's such a staggering number to choose from. For most people, using drug products or a combination of several approaches at home is the preferred choice.

But I believe it's best to try the easiest, most affordable product that sounds credible first. Give it a fair chance to prove itself - at least three months (that's the minimum time it takes for new hair growth to become obvious to you).

Then, if results are disappointing, simply move on to the next best hair loss product, and so on. At least that way you will avoid the more expensive or risky options (drugs and transplants) until absolutely necessary, and give yourself an opportunity to find an alternative approach that might actually help you.

Those hoping for a "miracle cure" will almost certainly be disappointed.

Perhaps one day, stem cell cloning (or dermal papilla multiplication techniques) will provide a way to grow back a full head of hair. But that still seems a long way off as there are many issues to overcome.

So, until then, quite obviously the best hair loss products are those that work for you. But you may have to try a lot of products, for quite a long time, and spend a lot of money to find out which ones they are!
